Art Galleries & Exhibits

I am drawn through my glass art to tell the stories of nature and music, the lore of the night skies, the tale of the trees, the rhythm of the waves and ever-changing seasons.

I marvel at the night sky stars, constellations and planets, the changing views at dusk and again at dawn. I am known for looking up, looking out, traipsing down trails to capture the light, noticing bark on birch trees and the delicate reach of high branches.

I am lucky to showcase my glass art in the Charlevoix Circle of Arts, Bier Art Gallery, Elements in Charlevoix and Freshwater Gallery in Boyne City. I began my glass art training as a Studio Artist for the Glass Art Center in Glen Echo, Maryland.

I have deep Charlevoix family roots. My great-grandparents' family home is now the Museum at Harsha House on State Street.

EXHIBIT WORK

Charlevoix Creatives Collective from left, Kathy Libert, Shayla Johnson, Jennifer Carroll, Sharon Smithem, Ruby Smith, Mary Duggan

The Charlevoix Creatives Collective is a fusion of artists coming together to cultivate creativity, ideas and inspiration. They collaborate to support, design, and promote each other's artistry.

The work of each artist was showcased in early spring 2023, along with the tools they use to create, learn individually and collaborate together.

The artists/creators represented a variety of art mediums and unique perspectives. Jennifer Carroll displayed her fused glass, writing and book coaching. Five fellow artists displayed illustration, painting, fibers arts, photography, graphic design.

They hope to inspire others to create and dream, from small efforts to growing and expanding as artists, creators, writers, beyond. The group welcomes new members and meets weekly at the Circle of Arts.
